do any of u out there think that the world will end in our lifetime? like within the next century? considering whats been happening in the last few years and this year in particular, what with all the disasters and whatnot, i think its a possiblity.
do u think that humanity and all of life in general is on the brink of destruction?
with the increase in global temperature and the rise of natural disasters around the world, are we screwed?
theres been a few documentaries and such on tv in the last few months, documenting the melting of the ice caps, and the rise in temp. but are we reli safe? the evidence is hard to go against but id still like to know what the majority of u out there think. |
ye the world will end in our life time i will do it

| Humans will destroy the world one day and the world is slowing dying, greenhouse effect, competition for coal and fuel as they are running out but i don't think the world will end that quick, maybe in the next century we get hit by a meteorite or something? No point in being sadistic about this, live your live to the fullest with no regrets. |

naw, but I am living in Seattle, we have several natural disasters waiting to happen.
1) Mount Rainier...most dangerous volcano in the lower 48. After seeing the destructive power of it's sister mountain, Mount Saint Helens blow off sideways, Mount Rainier is even more deadly. The mountain is currently standing at 14410 feet tall and is packed with glaciers. If the mountian should erupt, these glaciers along with huge boulders will tumble down into the valley. Luckily for I don't live in that area, however a large population of the Puget Sound do live in the lahar(massive mudslides) flow zone. Geologists have been carefully observing the mountain and do expect it to erupt within our lifetime(50~100years) as a cyclical process. If that day should come, it will be on the news for a while as do other natural disasters.
2) Cascadian Fault Line...Imagine the Indonesian Earthquake/Tsunami disaster in 2004 but just off the coast of northern California, Oregon, Washington and Vancouver Island. Yes this fault line is huge, and it is expected to produce the same, if not greater amount of energy that claimed hundreds of thousands of deaths in SouthEast Asia. Seattle has been patiently waiting for the "Big One" to arrive. Downtown skyscrapers are designed to sway in an event of an earthquake. However not all structures could withstand the violent shaking of the Earth. Many homes will be destroyed, bridges will collapsed and roads unusable, rendering many helpless during the aftermath. I believe this will be the scariest-assed thing I'll probably ever experience. Back in 2001, we had a 6.7 shake that felt more like a wave, that the ground was moving up and down and smoothly like an ocean wave. The Big One will be a quick snap and the shaking would continue for several minutes.
So yea if you do hear about these disasters...pray for us all! Hopefully I'll survive, we got plenty of ramen and water bottles in my family's garage. |

well i believe it may not be in our life time
it will destroyed oneday but definitely not today
not now not in this generation
i believe it will be destroyed when human average life is 5-10 years
but now the average is still 50-60 i think
so i don't think it will destroyed now |

I was referring to the sun exploding. If a huge astroid went to hit the sun the huge astroid would be a small speck by the time it reaches the suns core. |

Who (really) knows? A giant meteorite might just end everything in a couple of years. Meh, I hope it's not soon... Maybe in a time where we no longer live in this planet.

i hvnt read the previous posts i dunno if anyone mentioned...
i've been wondering if we will run out of gasoline in our lifetime.
we are all so dependent on it but it really is bad for us to use it up in a century when it took million of years to form |
