All you gamers submitting about PS3, read more for the details =)
-------------------------------------
From raiden
SONY will finally release the PS3 on 11/17 this year!
It will be quite TOO expensive so better start saving up for those who plan to get SONY's System on the release date.
And just like the Xbox360's release, it comes in 2 types of Models. A 20GB HDD equipped for $499 and a 60GB HDD equipped for $599.
-------------------------------------
From Douzo
The PS3, which has highly been anticipated, has finally gotten a release date. The system will launch in the US on November 17 for $500-$600 depending on hard drive size. Though the controller looks the same, it has internal motion sensors for added gameplay mechanics.
On a completely different note motion sensors were first introduced by the "Wii" and the analog stick was also first introduced by nintendo. Well we've been wating a while, but it looks like the PS3 is finally coming. Better start saving.
-------------------------------------
From theone06
Sony Ps3 will be in stores November 17 in the US and Europe (6 days earlier in Japan). It will retail for $499(for 20 gig HDD version) to $599 (for 60 gig HDD). Sony has also ditched the boomerang for a traditional Dual Shock 2 with motion sensing devices. According gamesindustry.biz, sony showed of the PS3 with demos of some of its next gen games,"Gran Turismo HD, a prototype product, The Eye Of Judgement, a card battling game which uses Eye Toy to allow you to arrange cards on screen with your hands; Ninja Theory's hugely impressive Heavenly Sword; Game Republic's follow-up to PS2 title Genji, Genji 2; and Insomniac Games' Resistance."
The PS3 will be backwards compatable.

| The system gets much less then a smaller hard drive at 500$... You get, no memory slots, no wireless, no HDMI (which kind of goes against the BluRay player).
So overall, after watching all 3 conferences. Sony disapointed me the most. Nintendo Wii seems really interresting. The Tenis demo at the end was just great. |

| Well ive only checked out the sony confer4ence so far and tbh it wasnt anything special. PS3 is so long awaited that theres not much else to see really. I only really watched it for the release date/prices and a couple of trailers.
Honestly i think Sony may have overpriced it BUT i dont think they could reduce its price anymore tbh. If we knew BR was going to be the next industry standard i think id have less of an issue with the price than i do right now. Also the controller was expected altho im not to sure about this 6 degree of tilt thing. Its a great idea but how useful itll be well. Also it seems like the ripped off ninetendo abit aswell seeing as their boomerang was flunk.
What does this mean, ill still be getting a ps3, ff13, mgs4 looked great plus a whole load of other games. |

| | Honestly, Sony's keeping a good thing with their old-school controller. Upgrading it while keeping the classic look and feel that everyone loves, I like that idea a lot more than a new boomberang style (though trying it would be just cool). Maybe putting the boomberang style out there for option or extra controllers after a while might be an option, but I'd rather have the classic one personally. As far as not putting everything in their machines, I think it makes sense, because after a year or so, kinda of like the 360 and DS Lite, it'll have some better qualities to it after adding a lot more stuff as well. Thinking that they'll already loose money, I think they're still great prices, especially for the HD, blue-ray, and all the what-not gadgets in there that I'm not too detailed about. I'm not getting it as soon as it comes out, but I will always be a Sony PS fan... where there's PS, there's me. A fan, yet not a fanatic ^_^ |

What is Sony thinking;we're not all that rich. |

| | Considering that Sony is losing several hundred bucks or so per PS3.....it's a pretty good deal. But yea, I'm gonna wait and see how things go. The wii looks great too. |

| | The ps3 may be expensive for a video game console, but it's cheap for a blue ray player. Ever consider that :). |

| | Everybody keeps on talking about the boomerang as if Sony had intended to use it. It was never seriously considered for production. They said so when first introduced. Apparently they did not want tip the news about the motion sensor, but did not want to show an old controller either. One thing Sony has done right is follow the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Their controller has been the industry standard by which all controllers are measured. They added analog sticks, then rumble, now they replace rumble with the motion sensor. I think it's brilliant. Think how much fun Monkey ball will be. |

| I dont care how much it is... I AM getting one.... (and a 350-400$ TV) for 1000$, as well as like 3 games, so Im gonna be spending around 1150$ right off the bat... but I'm getting a HUGE job this summer, so it'll all work out..... (with 1000$ left over)
Also, think of how good its gonna be, if it costs that much!!!!!!!!!! (it is by far the best console, just not everyone can afford it) |
