Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu

Story & Characters/Dev: 50%
I picked up this series for mainly one reason: this series, according to the synopsis, is about a closet otaku. So what was I expecting? Parodies, anime references, maybe with a nice touch of those simple, sweet school romances and such. Seeing as how it is only a short series of 13 episodes, I certainly wasn’t giving it high expectations i.e., the caliber of Hayate no Gotoku, Lucky Star, or in the case of romance: Rumbling Hearts, School Days (okay School Days was mentioned as a jest :D ) Indeed, the fact that this series stars a closet otaku made it appear different from most otaku-based series, which usually feature Konata archetypes who aren’t afraid to uh… "show their love for anime".
However, this series turned out to be quite a disappointment... (Read More) |
Spice and Wolf

Spice and Wolf is a great anime series.
There are a few things that make it great:
- The interaction between the two main characters, Lawrence and Horo
- Horo
- The focus on the economics side of society
Lawrence and Horo are a great match for one another. There are some highly entertaining scenes between them ^_^ I cannot think of any other anime character that comes close to being anything like Horo, personality wise. She is a wolf god in human form, who has a love for apples. Horo really is adorable, with her tail and... (Read More)

True Tears by kannagisai
True Tears is a very watchable short series. I found myself with that very familiar sort of "I just saw this" vibe as the story unfolded. It is, in fact, so similar to a number of other anime that seemed to have just been released it's almost ridiculous. Is there really that little space available for innovation with the recent financial downturn the industry is beginning to face? Kimi Kiss, Shuffle, and EF, have so many deep plot similarities that it's frightening. I realize they are not exactly alike, but they go much further than just having stereotypical characters and parallel male leads.
I wouldn't call this show a harem anime, but it does follow the typical formula that has all females in the show basically... (Read More) |

| wow I seen all three of these
I agree with most of the reviews here
in Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu I feel the biggest issue is they tried to over come big issue and sovle them way to fast, (first her peers wouldn't like her if she liked Anime then early on the in the show she no long cares what her peers think then her father dislike the fact she like Anime and that is solve ot quick also. these are sovled so quick that no time was there to flesh out the characters.
in Spice and Wolf was just to short with all the talk of economics they did give advance the story very much and left me wanting more when it left off (I hope there is another season or THREE will come out soon)
in True Tears the animation was above par (even the steam from the tea kettle in the background look right) I like the Characters even if they where sterotype seen in all the other Anime of this gender, the only thing that I really dislike was how the male lead pick end the end. I felt that Noe would have made a better girlfriend that his childhood friend/ how might have been but wasn't his half sister/ raised as a sister for the last couple of years ( also I think I was/am getting sick of all the romance shows that have the guy getting with his childhood friends and was hoping this one would have been different)
well that my two cents |

| Thanks for your 2 cents shadowshark :D
I, for one, have only seen the first episode of each of these; the top choice to continue would be Spice and Wolf. It's a tie between Nogizaka and True Tears (they were both meh). |
