Xeno's Music Picks 2008-2009

Hey all,
'Tis I, your not-so-local gaijin nerd-boy lost in the mountains of Japan; Xeno-sensei by day, Website Content Administrator xenocrisis0153 by night. I live where anime should dwell, but sadly does not. Err, well, it would if I had cable tv and a decent internet connection. Luckily I still have YouTube and a stash of streaming sites that still allows me to stay current. While I lack the capacity to take screenshots for articles and reviews, I can still do the next best thing... personalized Top 10 lists!!!
Probably won't be a regular thing as I am way too busy looking after the little ones of Japan (plus the GTX: Great Teacher Xeno blog keeps me busy), but every now and then, I can toss up one of these badboys (maybe the other staffers will be inspired to do their own, we'll see). To kick off, since we didn't do a Favorite Anime Music Survey this year, I'm going to present my Top 10 Favorite Anime Songs of the 2008-2009 Season; a countdown of the songs I've enjoyed most over the last few seasons.

2. Inner Universe - Ghost In The Shell/Origa
3. Hishoku no Sora - Shakugan no Shana/Kawada Mami
4. Kimi no Shira nai Monogatari - Bakemonogatari/Supercell
5. Perfect World - Spice and Wolf S2/ Rocky Chack
6. Hayate no Gotoku! - Hayate no Gotoku!/KOTOKO
7. Rise - Ghost In The Shell 2nd GIG/Origa
8. Dango Daikazoku - Clannad/Chata
9. Bouken Densho Densho? - Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya/Hirano Aya
10. Toki wo Kizamu Uta - Clannad ~ After Story/Lia
...of course there are a lot of others, but the music above are my top picks!

| Nice choices, Xeno! I especially approve of 'Summer Rain' because I personally love that song and Cross Game, of course. Here are my picks if you were curious, in no certain order.

| ahh love the links to the songs as I really don't memorize the names of the songs. (Bad enough with names as it is XD) I know almost all of the songs from the anime's so it was nice remembering the songs specialy toradora has some good memories
Anyhow I was reading it and had to say this though. Saying Toaru Majutsu no Index is a Shana clone is not doing it justice in my eyes. Yes the world it plays in has some similarities as that there is magic, but storywise there are little similarities exept that a girl unexpectedly shows up.
There is no tsundere nor romance like in Shana and I feel the show has quite a different feel in story development alltogether. |
